THE CRITICAL YEARS
At Valdosta Kids, we realize that the most critical years for spiritual training are between the ages of 5 and 12. Yet, with only 40 hours a year, we can only make a small difference. That’s why our main goal is to equip parents for the 3000+ hours that they have at home and on the road! Unfortunately, the latest surveys show that kids are spending almost 8 hours a day on multimedia and very little time in meaningful and spiritual discussions with their Parents. In the effort to help you redeem some of this precious time with your child, we provide the following programs and tools for you and your grade schoolers.
252 Basics Sunday Morning (K-5th Grades)
“Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52
252Basics is our Sunday morning curriculum that provides a set of very application-rich tools to parents for teaching kids Godly character and key Biblical principles throughout the week (at home, on the road, and at church). Each month, we will focus on a different Christ-like Virtue with different Bible lessons and bottom lines each week to teach God’s plan for that virtue in a child’s life. Valdosta Kids wants kids to have Christ in their hearts, reflect Jesus’ character and always know that Jesus loves them.
We share with you the desire for your kids to have the right influences in their lives. A great influence in a child’s life is to have mentors who love them and speak the same truths into their hearts as their parents. Each year we assign your child to a Small Group Leader and a small group of about 6-10 kids to build Godly relationships. Each Sunday morning your child’s small group will do fun games and activities that help teach them the Virture, Memory Verse and Bible lessons for the month. A few times throughout the year, small groups will have the opportunity through special events and get-togethers to build close relationships.
We encourage all Parents to get to know their child’s Small Group Leader and to hopefully spend some time with them and the small group!
